SeaWorld

Rather than have a huge birthday party this year, we decided to take Addysen somewhere for her third birthday.

At first, we were all set to go to Legoland but Addysen decided to throw the San Diego Zoo into the mix of places she'd want to go for her birthday. Eventually the list grew to four choices: the Zoo, Legoland, the Long Beach aquarium and SeaWorld. After looking over the maps for each of the four attractions, Addysen settled on SeaWorld as her choice for a birthday outing.

SeaWorld was enjoyable to visit. Along with Grandma Deb and Grandpa Bob, Andy and I hadn't been to SeaWorld in years, so it was interesting to see again. The weather was slightly warm and rather humid for San Diego, but a sticky 80 degrees was nicer than the 100 degree weather we were having in Corona mid-July.
We only spent about 5 hours at SeaWorld but got to see mostly everything we wanted to see, with the exception of the dolphin show.

The Shamu show was a must see.......

Addy and Grandma made a tail with their hands in an effort to encourage Shamu to splash the audience.

We saw the flamingos and Addy was so curious as to what the black bird was swimming with the flamingos. Don't forget to click on this picture to make it bigger...Addysen's expressions in these pictures are priceless.

We spent time visiting the Cyldesdale horses, the ray pool, the sea lions, the sharks, the penguins, the tide pool and the turtles. We also visited the Seasame Street portion of the park, where we rode on a few rides and met Cookie Monster.

Addysen was exhausted and passed out as soon as we got in the car. We enjoyed dinner at an outdoor Mexican restaurant in Old Town San Diego and then headed home.

Hi Amy!
this post makes me want to go to Sea World! I haven't been in probably 20 years or more, but grew up in San Diego so I went a lot as a kid. I will have to find some kids to take when I am home on a visit sometime! It wouldn't be the same without a child's appreciation!
Hope you're having a great weekend!
Love, Laura
