Our precious little girl is almost 2! It's very hard to believe. At 21 and a half months old, she is full of life, talking, singing, dancing. Here are a few things Addy is doing these days.
She speaks! FINALLY! One day she was yelling for her Dada and that was all she would say, and the next day she was picking up words that we would say to her. She has a whole list of words she can say, and even knows how to put words together (ex: "NO, bad dog!" when the dogs bark). Her favorite words are NO (everything is NO), uh-oh, boom, turtle (dur-dle), ta-dah (or dah-dah), dog, ball, bird, duck, but mostly the word NO. Should you ask her where her Dada is, she will tell you that he is playing "ball". If you question her, and ask "Are you sure he isn't at work", she will reply with "No, Ball". I recommend not arguing with her, you won't win. She's a strong-willed child!
If she doesn't know the word, she either makes the sound, like Moo for a cow, or she makes up her own signs. For example, she puckers her lips and makes almost a kissing noise to indicate that she wants something to drink rather than say juice. We do repeat juice she'll eventually learn the word.
Addysen affectionately refers to both of her grandpa's as Bob, even though only one is named Bob. It's cute! But we remind her that my dad is Grandpa or Ron. And even Bob should be called Grandpa, but again, she is strong-willed and says what she wants.
Addysen loves to take care of babies, real or doll, and she is very good about feeding them and rocking them. Just this morning she was feeding her baby in the middle of the kitchen as I made my breakfast. She then hit my leg to get my attention, laid her head on her hand, and pretended to snore (wonder who taught her that?) in order to show me that she had put her baby to sleep on a pillow.
We still get the pleasure of watching the Little Mermaid daily, but now get to mix it up with Monsters, Inc, which Addy loves. She's even learned how to say "Boo". We haven't seen Barney in a while (thank goodness!)
She's a smart one, most of the time too smart for her own good. She can turn a light switch on and off, open and shut doors, turn the tv on and off; Addy is quite good at mimicking and can figure out how to operate things quickly.
All of the sudden, she prefers her water in a cup rather than a sippie.
She is still in diapers. Potty training has regressed, but that's okay. We're still working on it.
Addy just suffered a double ear infection and throat infection and lost 4 lbs! It was awful, she wouldn't eat. She went from 37 lbs to 33 lbs. But on her last well baby appt, she was 36 1/2 inches tall and 37 lbs. I'm sure she'll get her weight back up soon. Therefore she is wearing either sizes 3T or 4T. She is still in a 7 1/2 shoe.
She likes to play with books, coloring books, sticker books, toy ponies, dolls, dishes, her sand box, her tricycle, a ball, anything at a park, anything grown ups use, like cameras, cars (she loves to "drive"). But she doesn't play with this stuff for long as she has a very short attention span.
I could probably go on and on, Addy does something new daily. But the purpose of this entry is to update those who don't get to interact with Addy daily. I hope you can all visit with her in the next few months; she is very fun!

Addysen is a doll! I try to imagine her doing these things, but it's hard - she is SO different than the last time I saw her. It is just amazing to me to think that in one year, Greta too will be doing all of these things. It seems simply amazing.
